Technology Integrated Projects
Below are descriptions and examples of projects my students have done.
Civil Rights Glog - Coordinated with 7th Social Studies - Students were given a person, place or event related to the Civil Rights Movement. They had to research their topic and create a multimedia poster using the web site Glogster.
Poe Visual Poetry - Coordinated with 7th Language Arts - As part of a unit on Poe and poetry, students anayzed a poem for meaning, tone and mood. Based on their interpretation, students choose photos and music reflecting the poem. Using Movie Maker, students created a video of their poem.
Stories of the American Revolution - Coordinated with a 6th Social Studies - Students were given a person, place or event that was significant to the American Revolution. Students researched their person, place or event and wrote a first person narrative. These narratives were recorded and turned into digital stories.
Perspectives on War - 8th grade Social Studies students conducted research on Japanese and German internment in the United States during World War II. Students learned about the events and proclomations surrounding the establishment of internment camps and read first person accounts of life in the internment camps. Using this information, students wrote their own account, turing their story into a digital story with histroical images.
Autobiography ePortfolio - Coordinated with a 7th Humanities class - Students undertook a 5 month reflective writing project and created an online portfolio. Students were given writing prompts and tech options to enhance or present each writing assignment.
Travel India! - Coordinated with 6th Social Studies - A requirement of their layered curriculum was to complete a research project on Ancient India and present it in the form of a travel brochure.
