In conjunction with a Language Arts novel study of My Side of the Mountain, students researched aspects of wilderness survival and created a guide to inform others about common wilderness dangers and resources. Students used research skills and desktop publishing skills to design appealing and informative brochures.

.As part of a Language Arts unit on Poe and poetry, students learned about deciphering and interpreting poems and visualizing what the poetry means. To reinforce these skills and strengthen students' visual literacy, we worked to create a multimedia interpretation of a Poe poem.
