Integration Projects

Autobiography ePortfolio
Civil Rights Glogster

Humanities students embarked on a 5 month exploration of their lives and what they have learned. Students were given writing assignments, each containing a technology component. Students created Animoto videos, iMovies, audio recordings and Glogster multimedia posters to supplement or present their writing. All writing and multimedia was added to the students' wiki pages to create an electronic portfolio.

Students researched key events and people associated with the Civil Rights Movement. Using their information, students created a glog, multimedia poster, to present their informaiton. Students incorporated video, images and audio to make their presentations more engaging.

Perspectives on War

Stories of the American Revolution

Students researched the lives of Japanese Americans and German Americans in order to better understand that how countries have dealt with foreigners or "alien enemies" during war time. Students used their research to write a first person account of life during World War II for those of Japanese and German descent.

An integrated research project in which students assumed the role of an individual involved in the American Revolution. Students researched a person or event and wrote a first person account of the American Revolution. Student stories were recorded and coordinated with historical images to create digital stories.

As part of a Language Arts unit on Poe and poetry, students learned about deciphering and interpreting poems and visualizing what the poetry means. To reinforce these skills and strengthen students' visual literacy, we worked to create a multimedia interpretation of a Poe poem.

Students in a 6th grade Spanish class chose Spanish speaking countries to learn about and present to their classmates. To reinforce geography skills and learn about the culture, students created Google Earth trips based on six place categories. These examples are KMZ files and require Google Earth to view. NLU Portfolio

As part of my Master's program in Technology in Education, we created an online portfolio. In this portfolio you will see examples of an interactive Flash lesson on Genetics and Heredity, an online professional development web site on Digital Cameras in the Classroom, a Podcasting e-newsletter, and a WebQuest created with Dreamweaver. You will also learn more about my vision of technology in the classroom.
